Office of Assessment Goals
The primary goal of the Assessment team is to continuously evaluate student outcomes and use those insights to improve educational quality. This process aligns with Tabor College’s broader goals of ensuring academic excellence, fostering student success, and promoting Christ-centered learning.
This approach guarantees that every professor implements the BLUEJAY Assessment process consistently and makes data-driven improvements annually.
Assessment Goals at Tabor College
1. Fostering Student Success
- Goal: Develop measurable outcomes for all academic programs to evalue student learning and success.
- Alignment: Supports Tabor College’s commitment to academic excellence by ensuring every program measures how well students meet the expected learning outcomes.
2. Improving Educational Quality
- Goal: Continuously collect and analyze data on student performance to identify strengths and areas for improvement in curriculum and teaching methods.
- Alignment: Enhances Tabor’s goal of equipping students for meaningful careers and service and refining educational offerings to better prepare them for real-world challenges.
3. Enhancing Faculty Engagement
- Goal: Encourage faculty participating in the assessment process to ensure educational improvements are based on data-driven insights.
- Alignment: Promotes the Tabor goal of fostering a collaborative, Christ-centered learning community where educators are fully engaged in student development.
The Higher Learning Commission accredits Tabor College and follows the Open Pathway to accreditation.
Teacher Education is accredited through the Kansas State Department of Education and approved through the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI).
Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Students can be licensed at the Licensed Bachelor of Social Work level (BSW Outcome Benchmarks).
